Simone de Quay naît le 27 juin 1926 à Sion. Après un brevet d’enseignante, elle étudie aux Beaux-Arts de Lausanne auprès notamment de Casimir Reymond et Marcel Poncet. Peintre, elle partage un atelier à Sion, voyage en Grèce et en Espagne, vit à Pully dès 1960 puis revient s’établir à Sion en 1984. Elle meurt le 4 avril 2022.
